Contemporary Landscape Painting

Tuesday 26th - Thursday 28th March 2019

This three-day workshop style course will look at tackling the landscape, as subject material, within the context of Contemporary Painting. Students will be free to work in whatever medium/media they choose, and the focus will be on extending each individual's responses to their particular chosen subject matter as well as their technical handling of their chosen media. Examples of various Contemporary Painters, currently working with the landscape, will be used as a focal point for discussion and consideration. Through a combination of exercises, group discussions, coupled with group and individual tuition, students will be encouraged to develop a sense of reflective studio practice, in relation to their own work, and to explore ways of developing exciting, engaging, and interesting, landscape paintings.
