Gizella K Warburton

Drawing with Paper, Cloth and Thread

Tuesday 22nd to Thursday 24th May 2018

£320 plus £10 material charge

During this three day workshop participants will be encouraged to ‘draw’ in different ways.

A series of exercises designed to explore observation, expression and reflection will involve experimental ways of making marks and developing surfaces. We will also consider collage and layering processes in relation to two- and three- dimensional compositions.

The sessions will offer possibilities for all levels with opportunities for individual exploration, alongside supportive mentoring and shared inspiration. Activities are designed to encourage participants to notice detail, challenge usual approaches, and be aware of their creative responses; developing the confidence to take risks with their ideas and nurture their own artistic voice.

About Gizella

"My work explores an intuitive response to linear, textural and light detail within landscape and surface. Abstract compositions evolve through the tactile and contemplative process of drawing with paper, cloth and thread. Mark making is an intrinsic part of my practice: shadowed, scratched, stained, scarred, pierced, wrapped and stitched... Unique objects include framed, hanging and sculptural artworks and installations. Developments include works on slate and weathered wood grounds, printed and woven elements, and sculptural forms and vessels."
