Colour, as emotive and physical presence within composition... as ground, accent and landscape'
During this workshop we will be considering collage and layering processes in relation to colour, mark and surface. Participants will follow a series of exercises with different start points with opportunities for individual exploration , alongside supportive mentoring and shared inspiration.
The sessions will offer possibilities for all levels and activities are designed to encourage participants to notice detail, challenge usual processes, and be aware of their creative responses; developing the confidence to take risks with their ideas and nurture their own voice.
"My work explores an intuitive response to linear, textural and light detail within landscape and surface. Abstract compositions evolve through the tactile and contemplative process of drawing with paper, cloth and thread. Mark making is an intrinsic part of my practice: shadowed, scratched, stained, scarred, pierced, wrapped and stitched... Unique objects include framed, hanging and sculptural artworks and installations. Developments include works on slate and weathered wood grounds, printed and woven elements, and sculptural forms and vessels."
